Join us for the Pchum Ben 2025 celebration on October 11!

Who we are

With only 60 Khmer families in this area, KWCA represents a population of about 250 people. We are resilient and represent many different professions. We contribute to Canadian culture in many ways. Our children attend Canadian schools, speak English, study Canadian history, play Canadian sports, and strive toward achieving the Canadian dream. Yet, while we have adjusted our practices to fit our lives in Canada, we continue to celebrate our identity as Khmer.

The Kitchener & Waterloo Cambodian Association (KWCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Khmer (Cambodian) culture, supporting interaction and understanding among those who bear interest in Cambodia and her culture and people, and enhancing the economic, cultural, and social quality of life of Cambodians and Cambodian/Canadian regardless of political affiliation, race, sex, or religion. KWCA’s activities include small business development, education, training, and multi-community collaboration for social and economic programs. Based in Kitchener, the KWCA serves Cambodians and Cambodian Canadians throughout Ontario Vision Statement.

KWCA envisions a community in which Cambodian history, culture, and contemporary issues are valued as part of Canadian society, and in which Cambodian-Canadians in Kitchener & Waterloo are self-reliant, self-sustaining, responsible, empowered, and involved in addressing individual, community, and global challenges.
